13 Survey Files which are the user questionnaires.
The 13 response files will be created automatically when a survey file
is executed.
The Matchmaker Menu should be made available from your Main Menu or any other menu in your BBS.
It presents a list of questionnaires to your users (actually survey files) who choose their sex, age group and sexual preference. Once they choose it branches to that particular survey file for them to complete the questionnaire. Of course the questionnaire (survey) may be changed to list any questions you wish. The survey files included are rather tame, but some references to sexual items might be offensive to some of your users. Therefore I included a brief disclaimer at the beginning of the survey files so they could back out if they don’t wish to continue.
Also I recommend you leave them an out for any personal question and don’t force them to answer each one by adding a “if input is empty branch back to the question” type command. Then blank answers will just be blank in the response file instead of loaded with garbage.
My questionnaires include one for users under 18 with slightly less sexually geared questions. I have each questionnaire raise the user level and time limit upon completion. For those under 18, I do not give access to the Adult files on my BBS. Anyone over 18 is given a higher access level so they can view the adult sections. Gay/Bi users are given a different level so they can access a special section for their messages, photos, etc. which are not visible to the "straight" users, since straight users usually don't appreciate gay/bi activities. You can, of course, eliminate the gay/bi section entirely, but I have found a lot of users appreciate and use it. Also by keeping the gay/bi section not visible to other callers you are giving those who use that section the privacy they usually prefer.
After a user has completed his appropriate questionnaire he can then read the response files for the other users. A command type 12 is the best way to read these files since they can get lengthy and many users will wish to pause, cancel etc. Also, after your response files get rather long you may wish to change the name of the response file (maybe once a month) and set it up as a text file viewable from the response menu according to date, name, age, preference, sex, etc. Then only new users or updated questionnaire responses will be in the .res file for that section and users won't have to wait thru a list a mile long of users they've already browsed just to see who's new in the matchmaker files.
Don’t forget to change all the file paths in the menus and at the end of the survey files to match your BBS setup!
